Healing is a journey

You take the first step by learning about the impact of trauma and abuse in childhood. This includes understanding the narcissistic abuse tools in the narcissist’s arsenal. Examples include gaslighting, abuse by proxy, flying monkeys, narcissistic rage and love bombing. It is also important to read about other survivors who overcame similar trauma. Their resilience and strength will inspire and motivate you.

Once you have understood the source of your trauma, the next step involves processing what you have learned. Only then will you understand what happened to you. You will finally recognise the impact of the abuse, be it negative self talk, learned helplessness or trust issues.

With each step you take you will be one step closer to getting better.

Always remember that you are not alone. There is a whole community of narcissistic abuse survivors sharing and supporting each other online. Do not hesitate to reach out and ask for help, advice or support. We are all there for one another.
